Dr. Rainer Lipp

Management and Medical Management

The co-founder Rainer Lipp, M.D., who is board certified specialist in internal medicine, haematology and oncology and also the chief medical officer, is in charge of executive management.

After studying medicine at the Medical University of Lübeck, Dr Lipp completed his specialist training at the Centre for Pulmonary Diseases and Thoracic Surgery at the Großhansdorf Hospital, the Westphalian Wilhelm University and the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf.
Following a stopover at Aventis Pharma Germany as Medical Director of Oncology, Dr Lipp founded a research- and consulting company in Hamburg, in 2003.
This company was one of the first external study centres for a large oncological practise specialising in pivotal international studies, so Dr. Lipp has served as a Principle Investigator in more than 80 licensing-relevant studies and as Head of Clinical Trials in accordance with the AMG, in more than ten studies. Most recently, Dr Lipp was responsible for the entire project management of the GermanOncology projects and the registry in the field of oncological care research.

In addition to clinical research, Dr Lipp also specialised in healthcare research and cost analyses of oncological therapy- and analysis procedures, as well as in advising pharmaceutical companies, clinics and statutory health insurance physicians. Here he placed particular emphasis on the development of cross-sectoral collaboration models and the analysis of the various forms of care in the German healthcare system and the resulting reimbursement processes.

Dr Lipp is a member of numerous oncological societies and various national and international expert boards. Since 2004, Dr Lipp has been part of the German Health Insurance (DKV/Ergo Group) expert´s network “Best Care”, in which experts will focus on oncological second opinions for national and international patients.
Dr Lipp is a co-author of many international publications and is a sought-after speaker and moderator at symposia and workshops focusing on forms of care and reimbursement processes.
